Will Breeze-Eastern ship my hoist with FAA 8130 tags / EASA Form 1?

Breeze-Eastern has PMA authority on several rescue hoist product lines, and thus will ship selected hoists and parts with an FAA 8130 / Form1 for those products. If an 8130 / Form 1 is needed for your application, it is recommended to check availability with us at techsupport@breeze-eastern.com and specify the requirement on requests for quote and PO’s.

What is the procedure to change a wire rope cable on a Bl-29900-30 style Hoist?

What is a Rescue Hoist / Winch “Cycle”?

A Hoist, or Winch, cycle is defined as reeling out the cable from full-in to full-out, and then reeling back to full-in per the requirements of SIL 01 Maintenance.

When does the Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period begin for a Rescue Hoist / Winch?

The Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period begins from the date of manufacture of a fielded new Rescue Hoist / Winch or date of last overhaul for a recently overhauled Rescue Hoist / Winch. For more details access SIL 01 Maintenance on our website.

What is the Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period for a Rescue Hoist / Winch?

Breeze-Eastern’s Hoist / Winch Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period is either five (5) years or two thousand (2,000) cycles from date of manufacture, whichever comes first, or ten (10) years or two thousand (2,000) cycles from date of manufacture, whichever comes first. Does a Breeze-Eastern supplied load indicator have a Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period?

A Breeze-Eastern supplied load weigh indicator does not have a Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period and is considered “On-Condition” maintenance per the requirements of SIL 02 Maintenance.

How are hours of external load operations defined?

Hours of external load operation is defined as the time the helicopter is engaged in external load operations, including time between loads on the hook per the requirements of SIL 02 Maintenance.

What is a Cargo Hook “Cycle”?

A Cargo Hook “Cycle” is defined as any unlatch and relatch of the load beam whether loaded or unloaded per the requirements of SIL 02 Maintenance.
