Airborne rescue hoist users have always had the problem of seeing the rescue hook when working in low visibility conditions. Breeze-Eastern Corporation working with Polybrite International has developed a solution to the problem. The Illuminated hook bumper allows the hook to be seen in snow, fog and other low visibility conditions. The Illuminated hook utilizes a self- contained battery powered circuit providing high visibility flashing red LEDs that Illuminates the polymer bumper. The bumper is highly visible from all directions but especially while looking straight down the wire rope. The bumper will float and will greatly enhance the safety of over water personnel hoisting in stormy conditions.
