Breeze-Eastern Corporation "SkyHook" Emergency Rescue Device (ERD)

Breeze-Eastern Corporation's new "SkyHook" Emergency Rescue Device (ERD) is a manually operated two speed backup to primary hoist systems designed to fit most helicopters. Alternatively, it can stand alone to fulfill basic hoist requirements as a low cost option on helicopters not equipped with a standard rescue hoist system. Featuring load raising and lowering capabilities, the SkyHook ERD is compact, lightweight, and can be easily operated with minimal training. The dual gear ratio design allows the operator to either minimize effort or maximize hoisting speed. The unit is manufactured from advanced materials, requires low maintenance, and allows for quick and secure installation.

An important feature of the SkyHook ERD is the provision for a rappel hard point located on the unit's guide roller assembly, offering additional utility in a wide range of operations including SAR, military, police, EMS, firefighting, and others.

The SkyHook ERD can be installed on new helicopters or can be easily retrofitted on existing helicopters. As with all Breeze-Eastern Corporation products, technical assistance is available from our World Wide Network of authorized Service Centers.

Breeze-Eastern Corporation's SkyHook ERD mounts simply to existing fittings within the aircraft, so the unit can be installed or removed in minutes by the air crew without special tools or training, on the ground or in-flight, on the ceiling or the floor depending on aircraft type. The entire device stows neatly away in a convenient soft storage pouch when not in use. The basic SkyHook ERD is currently configured to fit the Bell UH-1, 212/412, Agusta Bell 212/412, Eurocopter Super Puma, Sikorsky HH-60J, UH-60L, and other H-60 variants, Westland Sea King, etc.
